Itinerary Highlights

Our back-to-back Solomon Islands expeditions explored the remote and pristine coral reefs in the most easterly corner of the legendary Coral Triangle. The expeditions visited the Russell Islands, Mary Island, Florida Islands, and the spectacular Marovo Lagoon area of the Western Province.

Key Destinations:

  • Russell Islands' stunning reef systems

  • Mary Island and Florida Islands exploration

  • Marovo Lagoon in Western Province

  • Remote dive sites within the Coral Triangle

Endemic Species Focus

The expeditions targeted recently described endemic species including Burt's Damselfish (Chrysiptera burtjonesi), Lynn's Pipefish (Festucalex rufus), and Marinda's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus marinda). Richard's four previous trips aboard Bilikiki provided invaluable knowledge for locating these rare Solomon Islands endemics.

Cultural Immersion

Beyond the exceptional diving, both expeditions included village visits during surface intervals to experience traditional Solomon Islands culture. Guests witnessed singing and dancing performances and had opportunities to purchase hand-carved traditional items and locally crafted artifacts.

The Bilikiki Experience

Our trusted expedition platform provided comfortable accommodation while accessing the Solomon Islands' most remote reef systems. The vessel's proven track record in these waters, combined with Richard's extensive experience aboard her, ensured optimal access to both diving sites and cultural experiences.

Images from these expeditions showcase the pristine coral reefs of the Coral Triangle's eastern edge and newly discovered endemic species.
